Calculation of the Pressure Field for Turbulent Flow around a Surface-Mounted Cube Using the SIMPLE Algorithm and PIV Data

چکیده

The calculation of the pressure field on and around solid bodies exposed to external flow is paramount importance a number engineering applications. However, conventional measurement techniques are inherently linked problems principally caused by their point-wise and/or intrusive nature. In present paper, we attempt calculate time-averaged two-dimensional integrating PIV (particle image velocimetry) velocity measurements into CFD code modifying them respective correction step SIMPLE algorithm. Boundary conditions applied from data as three-layer area constant velocities adjacent boundaries. A novel characteristic approach straightforward inclusion Reynolds stresses source terms momentum equations, calculated directly statistics. methodology three regions symmetry plane parallel main boundary layer past surface-mounted cube. spite findings deviations planar 2D assumption, derived fields adjusted found be reliable, while intrinsic turbulent nature considered without modelling stresses.
